Regarding "The Peace Church as Worship of God" (July): J. Denny Weaver so aptly places the emphasis on the Mennonite church as a peace church. It is as important as ever that the peace church be proclaiming itself in love as our witness to the world as disciples of Jesus. His teaching is clearly of nonviolence and is to separate us from the world and the way to worship God in spirit and in truth. Yes, it's true that historical, traditional views of God are varied as God is understood as a violent God. God is omnipotent. This is interpreted by humans in various beliefs, but I see this in my limited eyes of faith and have faith and trust in God to look for good in the midst of evil or in destructive paths.
