by Ervin Stutzman, Harrisonburg, Va.Darrin is right, and I am grateful for his properly nuanced interpretation of Anselm's theory. While Anselm's theory required satisfaction for sin, it was Calvin who later theorized that God's punishment of Christ was needed to bring about that satisfaction.
