Bethel College students recovering from accident

NORTH NEWTON, Kan.—Two Bethel College students injured in separate automobile accidents during the school’s Thanksgiving break are recovering in Wichita, Kan., hospitals.
Sunita Pudasaini underwent successful reconstructive surgery on her injured hip Nov. 27 and has been moved out of surgical intensive care into rehab. She will likely not be able to put any weight on her hip and leg for a couple of months. She still has lots of pain in her right leg, but doctors are hoping it will resolve in time. The movements of her right leg are also affected.
“Sunita and Anil [her fiancé] remain overjoyed for her saved life and healing, despite the long recovery she faces,” says Bethel College campus pastor Amy Barker. “Sunita offered no complaints, only thanksgiving for all our prayers. Anil has been working at a hospital in Chico, Calif., and hopes now to find a nursing job in Wichita in order to remain nearby.”
Brittany Voth had surgery Dec. 4 to close her abdomen following repairs made to her colon and urethra, but further surgery was required on Dec. 12 to repair a leak around a tube installed. The good news is that Brittany’s arm is healing on its own, so there is no arm surgery to anticipate.
