MARP announcement misleading
by Martha Graber, North Newton, Kan.The announcement (Sept. 4, page 6) that Jay L. Roth is the third director in the 17-year history of the Mennonite Association of Retired Persons is misleading. Actually the board of MARP was organized in 1981 as the Inter-Mennonite Council on Aging. It appointed my husband, Eldon, and me as directors to open an office in February 1982. We started the publication Pages and initiated what has become a 25-year program of activities. In 1990, the MARP name was adopted while Barbara K. Reber was director.
