Concert proceeds benefit Western District

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.—The Possum Boys, a Mennonite bluegrass band, donated proceeds from their final concert to Western District Conference’s Vision 2012 capital campaign. More than 700 people attended the concert.
The donated money goes to the conference’s camping ministry, ministerial services and resource library.
“They contacted us,” says Dorothy Nickel Friesen, conference minister, “and told us they wanted the proceeds from their final concert to benefit the ministries that had personally touched them over the years.”
Band members are Derek Klingenberg, Brett Klingenberg, Bethany Amstutz, Nate Stucky and Grant Klingenberg.
With sales of CDs and t-shirts, the final total donated to the conference is expected to be at least $10,000,” says Friesen.—Western District Conference
