BLUFFTON, Ohio—This fall nine Bluffton University students will participate in the inaugural Pittsburgh Semester program.
The Pittsburgh Semester originated to promote the understanding and practice of Christian vocation through urban immersion and service, academic study and professional internships.
Students will take classes and complete an internship in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Project, a nonprofit community development organization that operates after-school programs, performs free home repairs for those in need and outfits college students for urban service.
In addition, five students will travel to Northern Ireland to live with local families as they attend classes at Magee College of the University of Ulster, Londonderry, and connect with Corrymeela Community, the largest reconciliation group in Northern Ireland.—Bluffton University
