Portraits and Portents: A summer of weddings and walks

This post is dedicated to all of you who came up to me at one time or another this summer and told me that you enjoy seeing my photos on this blog. Because they don't generate many comments, it's sometimes hard to gauge interest. So thanks for your kind words!

These are photos I've taken over the last three months in Iowa, Indiana and Chicago (yes, I know that's a city, not a state). One of the trends I noticed as I pulled these together is the increasing importance of portraiture in my photography. This trend has especially developed in the last month as I've done three weddings and one engagement photo session. In portraiture in particular, I've found a new connection between photography and working with people to build their dreams--an area I've always associated more with my web design work. I'm looking forward to stretching my confidence and skills in taking photos of people over the coming seasons.
