My top five fiddle videos

posted by Tim Nafziger on 07/30/11 at 10:45 PM

So you all have become accustomed to the photos I post here on my blog. But what you might not know is that I also record video with my camera. Here are five of my favorite videos so far, four of which are my wife Charletta playing fiddle. I've included captions with each video as well for your edification:

This was the first video of Charletta playing fiddle by the lake last summer.

After the success of the summer video, we decided to try an autumn version. There's another autumn fiddling video with Charletta that co-stars a squirrel towards the end.

Charletta and her grandmother Nita in Iowa playing "Oh it is Jesus" as a duet. The two of them have played together with Charletta on the fiddle and Nita on the guitar at many family reunions over the years. It's a delight to watch them enjoy each others company.

Nita and Charletta also play together on the organ and fiddle. Here they play "I stand Amazed in the Presence." which I know better for the lines in its chorus: "O how marvelous! O how wonderful! Is my Savior’s love for me!"

And now for something completely different. This is footage I shot at a Delhi 2 Dublin concert in Chicago last summer. The fiddler was remarkably good at jumping and playing at the same time.
